At CherishEd, we believe that every child who enters our doors would benefit from a comprehensive language and literacy evaluation. There are many reasons a child may be having difficulty with reading and writing. A thorough evaluation will help shed light onto the reasons why your child is struggling. The evaluation process generally will take 3-4 hours and is often completed in one session, if a child is able. An extensive report is provided along with program recommendations. Our qualified Educational Advocate is able to provide next steps and resources to communicate with your child’s school. At its root, dyslexia is a language-based disorder. Research has found that IQ testing is not effective in determining which child will be a skilled reader. Spoken language skills are the strongest predictor of one’s ability to learn to read and write. We whole-heartedly believe that in order to unlock your child’s potential, we must look closely at language. Specific areas of language included in the evaluation are aligned with the International Dyslexia Association and American Speech Language and Hearing Association’s recommendations. Dr. Rebecka holds over 20 years of expertise and experience in the field and will work with your child , either in person or online. A complete battery of assessments including assessments to measure: intelligence, oral language skills, word recognition, decoding, spelling, phonological processing, automaticity and fluency skills, reading comprehension, vocabulary knowledge, neurobehavioral, family history, and early development. strengths and weaknesses determined and a tentative road map for intervention. Conclusions and recommendations are developed and reported.

To cancel or reschedule, please contact us within 24 hours of your scheduled session. The $65 fee will be charged when canceling occurs past the 24 hours of the scheduled session.
