Equine & Hippotherapy for Struggling Learners|Dyslexia, ADD, ADHD, Autism & other Spectrum Disorders

About

Equine|Hippotherapy has beneficial impacts on many spectrum disorders including, dyslexia, ADD, ADHD, Autism and other spectrum disorders. Studies report that all five equine therapy interventions  have shown significant improvement in the language aspects of dyslexic children. Through the activities carried out during equine therapy, researchers found that dyslexic children were able to convey their thoughts more accurately. According to the research center, there were improvements in aspects of reading and language including auditory processing and comprhension, phonological awareness, spelling, and sentence structure. Not only that, equine therapy has proven to improve speech articulation and the confidence of dyslexic children to read in the process of learning. The most significant impact of equine therapy on language aspects among these  children are improvements in phonological awareness and auditory comprehension.

Here, at Cherish Children, we focus on: ALL Children being CREATED in the Image of GOD. We understand all children have a purpose for which he or she has been created. "For I know the plans I have for you, plans for good and not for evil; plans for a hope and plans for a future, this says the LORD." Jeremiah 29: 11

Igniting the Senses! Sensory activities that involve children with spectrum disorders in contact with horses can build positive relationships as a whole.  Boosting CONFIDENCE, Stabilizing the CORE, Maintaining BALANCE, Incorporating RHYTHM and CROSSOVER, and VISUAL strengthen the needed areas to foster healthy neuron connectivity and yield REAL results that LAST.  Sensory activities help develop the confidence children need to improve the development of cognitive, emotional, social, and psychomotor functions as a whole. They use their fine motor skills in a variety of progressive multi-sensory activities such as holding, touching, rubbing, feeling, and smelling. Sensory activities can improve their memory abilities. Cherishing Children and igniting their ability to learn is the ultimate goal.
